LUNES/MONDAY:
Se reúne conmigo y con algunos profesores para comenzar a aclarar dudas con relación a los distintos sistemas educativos. Es muy diferente la forma de trabajo en Bélgica y en España. Y, por supuesto, es también muy diferente su forma de organización de centros. Parte de la reunión se centra en cómo se trabaja con los niños que tienen necesidades educativas especiales: quién lo diagnostica, cómo se derivan, quién diseña la respuesta educativa correcta.... Visita el colegio de Infantil, donde observa 2 cosas:
- Por un lado, ellos tienen las aulas muchísimo mejor dotadas de material
- Por otro lado, nosotros disponemos de un horario que nos permite mucho más coordinar nuestro trabajo.
También asistimos a una clase de MÚSICA con Fernando. Ellos no tienen especialistas. ¡Vaya lástima!
Terminamos el día con la realización de un borrador del horario de actividades que harán las profesoras en abril.
She meets up with me and some other teachers to start clearing out some doubts about the different Educational Systems. It is very different the way we aproach teaching and Inclussion in Belgium and in Spain. Of course, it is also very different the way they deal with school organizing. Part of the meeting focuses on how to work with the children who have Special Needs: who does the diagnose, how are the needs detected, who designs the appropiate educative planning....Then, we visit the Infants school, where she spots two things:
- On the one hand, they have many more material resources in the classrooms.
- On the other hand, we have a timetable that allows us to coordinate better and support each other´s work.
We also go to a music class with Fernando. They don´t have specialists in Ghent...¡what a pity!
We end up the day by making up a draft of the activities that the visiting teachers in April will develop.
Y, por la noche, ¡a celebrar el Día de San Antón! Con sopas de ajo, torreznos y porrón en la plaza del Ayuntamiento.
And, in the evening...¡let´s celebrate San Antón´s day! With garlic soup, "torreznos" and "porrón" (device to drink, shown below) in the Townhall Plaza.
MARTES/TUESDAY:
El martes comienza la mañana observando cómo trabajan los especialistas en PT, AL y Compensatoria. Después va a ver el trabajo en la Sección Bilingüe, así como observa cómo hacemos los desdobles o los apoyos educativos entre profesores. Asiste a una clase de ABN en Matemáticas con Marta. ¡Y resulta que es la forma en la que ellos trabajan siempre! Vaya....Está claro, el mundo es un pañuelo.
On Tuesday she starts her day by observing how is the work of the specialists in Speech Therapy (AL) Educational Pedagogy (PT) and Compensatory Education (Inmigrants and Socially Deprived childen). Afterwards she goes with the Bilingual Section teachers and she also attends a class in which the teachers are coworking. She also goes with Marta to a maths ABN class....¡and it ends up being their natural way of working in Zwaluwnest! Well....clearly...small world...
Continúa la reflexión y la realización del horario para abril. No hay que olvidar el objetivo. Por la noche, quedamos para cenar en Segovia. Que también hay que disfrutar un poco.
We continue our reflecting on the timetable for the teachers in April. We must not forget the goal of her visit. At night, we meet up for dinner in Segovia. Enjoying is also necessary.
MIÉRCOLES/WEDNESDAY:
Hoy es su último día. Comenzamos con la despedida en el colegio. Ha sido algo breve pero muy bonito, dice ella. Se le ha quedado muy buen sabor de boca. Tanto, que posiblemente ella esté también entre el grupo de profesoras que vengan en abril.
Después nos vamos a Segovia, a visitar el "Aula Amapola", un precioso proyecto que están llevando a cabo en el CEIP "Sta. Eulalia". Es un proyecto de inclusión de niños con TEA. ¡Qué energía más positiva nos transmite el equipo que trabaja con ellos! ¡Bravo, chicas!
Today is her last day. We start by saying bye-bye to everyone. It has been a short but beautiful visit, she says. She takes good memories with her. To the point that it is very likely that she will also be in the visiting team of April.
Afterwards we both go to Segovia, to visit the "Aula Amapola" (Poppy classroom), a beautiful project developed in "Santa Eulalia" school, in Segovia. It is an inclussion project for children with Autismus Spectrum Syndrome. ¡What a lot of possitive vibes we get from the staff that works with them! ¡Bravo!
